OWCS rolling stock
in action on the
Piermont Division
The Piermont Division is a model railroad owned and
operated by
Howard Zane of Maryland. This railroad is a mythical division of the
Western Maryland located in the northern counties of West Virginia. The
names of the towns are taken from Howard's friends some of which help
with the construction, maintenance and operation of his pike. There is no
prototype followed everything which has been done is completely freelanced.
Why is Howard's railroad called the Piermont Division? When Howard was going
to college in New York City he lived in Piermont, (the home of
the OWCS) in Rockland County, New York on the Hudson River.
He also spent a few years in Warren New Hampshire and has many fond memories
climbing to the apex of Mt. Piermont. Depending on your browser these photos
my appear very large. This was done in part to allow our viewers to see
the work that went into the fine detailing of the scenery.
All of the photographs were taken by Bill Carl.
