DUBOIS HOUSE
With their gingerbread trim and ornate decoration the Queen Anne style is what most people
imagine when they think of a Victorian house. Houses of this style were built throughout the
country between 1880 and WWI. They could be found in towns and cities of all sizes. Many
remain today, some lovingly restored to their former glory. The prototype for our kit is the A.P.
Dubois house in Livingston Manor, NY. This house was built in 1884 for a successful merchant in
town. The house remained the family home for many years. It still stands today, beautifully
restored, a survivor from an earlier era. This kit includes laser-cut gingerbread trim, peel and
stick windows, shutters, stonework and roofing material. Jan./04 Delivery
LA-600 $99.98 Reservations accepted

DUBOIS DRUGSTORE
Across the street from the Dubois house was the family store. Built in the 1880's it stood until
destroyed by fire in the late 1970's. Over the years it housed a general store, furniture store,
barbershop, drug store, and even a hobbyshop! Stores like this can be found all over the country.
This kit includes peel and stick windows, shutters roofing. Appropriate signs are also included.

CREAMERY
Prior to the building of the interstate highway system after WWII the railroads hauled nearly all of
the milk that was consumed in the larger cities. Local farmers would deliver cans of Bessie’s best
to the local creamery where it would be stored, chilled and from there shipped to the city in
railroad-hauled milk cars.

The prototypes for these kits were built in Campbell Hall, NY. Similar designs could be found
throughout the Northeast. This creamery kit will include track side loading docks and delivery
shed. The ice house will also include loading docks, large vertical loading doors and roof top
ventilator. Available late December 2003
LA-680 Creamery $55.00
LA-681 Ice House $35.00

ICE HOUSE
In the days before mechanical refrigeration ice would be used to keep the milk cold. Most
creameries also had associated ice houses built nearby to store large blocks of ice used in the
chilling process. Reservations Accepted for all four structures.
