Between 1972 and 1981 Berwick Forge & Fabricating built a large number of modern 50' sliding door boxcars. These cars were sold to more than 35 railroads initially, and to many second-hand owners in the years to come. They carried a number of colorful paint schemes and continue on daily service to this day.
Branchline's first modern kit continues the standards set by our transition-era cars. It includes full underbody detail with full brake rigging, overhanging X-panel roof, 7 panel sides, non-terminating sine wave end, separate wire grabs, fully detailed end ladders and brake equipment, metal wheels, and E-Z Mate knuckle spring couplers. Like all our standard "Blueprint Series" cars these box cars will be available in 4 different numbers.
